We’re looking for a talented Senior Online Engineer to help us bring the magical world of Xadia to life in our new multiplayer game based on the Emmy® Award-winning Netflix series, The Dragon Prince!

As a Senior Online Engineer you will help build the backbone of our online multiplayer platform that is essential to a smooth gaming experience for our players. You will have the opportunity to solve complex engineering problems and implement backend services and features that will contribute to our player focused game philosophy.

You Will:

  • Implement and maintain backend services to support game features: e.g. chat, game servers, authentication, matchmaking, store, player progression, and more
  • Develop and maintain tools and techniques for deployment, maintenance, and monitoring of services
  • Implement and maintain LiveOps solutions to support delivery, scaling, and reliability of network services and online game features
  • Develop and maintain correct, organized, efficient, and well-tested code
  • Actively contribute to the growth of a startup studio. Lead by example, including demonstrating a willingness to give and receive feedback, collaborate with others to share techniques, ideas, and contribute to a positive working environment

You Are:

  • Experienced in architecting online systems
  • Passionate about creating immersive game experiences
  • Creative nature with strong problem solving skills
  • Autonomous with a high degree of self-direction and motivation
  • Proficient in verbal and written communication of technical concepts

Required Qualifications:

  • 4+ years experience
  • Proficiency implementing systems in higher level typed languages, e.g. Scala, F#, Racket, Clojure, Erlang etc.
  • Experience designing, developing, testing, & maintaining network backend services and APIs

Desired Qualifications:

  • Proven track record of at least one shipped game title

The annual base pay range for this position in Los Angeles, California is $130,000 USD - $200,000 USD. Pay is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and overall experience. In addition to base pay, all full-time positions will receive equity, flexible PTO, unlimited sick leave, parental leave, a full range of medical, dental, and vision insurance, and relocation support as part of the overall compensation package.
